OUTAGE OF TEDZANI POWER STATION FOR TRASH REMOVAL
Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) wishes to notify all stakeholders and the public that there will be an outage of Tedzani Power station on Sunday, 1 December 2024 from 07h00 to 16h00 to facilitate removal of trash from course and fine screens at Tedzani intake. The outage of Tedzani will result in unavailability of 121MW generation capacity to the national grid during the stated period.
To reduce the impact of the outage, EGENCO will have all available diesel generators during the outage of Tedzani Power Station to supplement the available hydro capacity of Nkula, Kapichira and Wovwe power Stations.
EGENCO sincerely regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by the outage of Tedzani Power Station.
